First Tech Challenge

First Tech Challenge (FTC) is a FIRST robotics program for students in 7th to 12th grade. This program challenges students to design, build, and program robots in a 10 week period to compete in a floor-based game. This competition creates a low-cost and accessible opportunity for students to explore the fields of STEM.

The Iron Patriots have recently started our own FTC team, team 16942, the Minutemen, which has competed in three competition seasons! This year, the Minutemen finished as a finalist alliance in the State championship, but not before winning the Curie Interleague Tournament and setting a world record for the highest score at the time in the 2022 game, Freight Frenzy.

The FTC team is geared towards freshmen and sophomores to give them hands-on robotics experience and allow them a chance to come into their own before the FRC build season starts. It is highly recommended that all freshman and sophomores consider joining the FTC team!
